About the role:
As a Software Engineer II on the Backend Engineering team in Bangalore, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the Uber Third Party Interface. You will work closely with product, UX, and design teams to ensure that our APIs are not only functional but also user-friendly. You will also be responsible for identifying and improving bottlenecks in the platform, both in terms of runtime performance and development efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement foundational components for the Uber Third Party interface
- Collaborate with multiple product and engineering teams, as well as external partnerships for integration into our platform
- Work with Product, UX, and Design to build world-class APIs
- Write clean, well-documented code that can be used as an example for the company
- Continuously improve the platform by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks
- Analyze features in production using data and metrics to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in a high-level programming language (GoLang, Java, or C++)
- Solid understanding of core computer science concepts
- Experience building large scale distributed systems
- Experience writing API specifications and implementing them
- Experience working on platforms used by other engineers
- Experience collaborating effectively in a team environment
- Experience analyzing data and metrics to measure the impact of features
