Applied R&D (AR) Software Engineer

About the Role

In this role, you will be an integral part of our dynamic AR team, responsible for the entire software development lifecycle from design and implementation to testing and troubleshooting. You'll work closely with colleagues across various disciplines to bring complex projects to fruition, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Analyze, design, develop, and test software solutions for integrated hardware/software systems based on customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical problems related to hardware, software, or a combination of both, and provide solutions or recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain software build-controlled production releases, including main and update releases, service packages, and customer design engineering projects.
  • Define product hardware/software evolutions through documentation creation and release, change control management, and supplier/customer communication.
  • Participate in process and tool improvements, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the SW Care process, particularly in handling emergency cases and restoring functionalities as quickly as possible.
  • Share your technical and design knowledge by providing training to lower-tier support teams.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in analyzing, designing, developing, and testing software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working with integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management (SCM) practices.
