Job Summary:
Ciena is a leading provider of networking solutions, and they're looking for talented Software Engineers to join their team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting software for their network management systems (NMS) and element management systems (EMS).
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the release/design lead to ensure successful delivery of releases and features
- Implement code according to the design and meet project timelines
- Comply with organization-wide coding conventions and procedures
- Provide input on detailed design
- Develop and execute unit test cases
- Support technical leadership with troubleshooting and defect resolution
Skills:
- Strong analysis, coding, testing, and documentation skills
- Proficient in object-oriented concepts, data structures, and algorithms
- Knowledge of operating system and networking concepts
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java/JavaScript, Python, JavaScript/HTML/CSS/JQuery, Scala (academic projects in any of these areas are a plus)
Desired Skills:
- Experience with microservice architecture using Docker and Git configuration management
- Experience with Linux/Unix environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Independent and self-motivated with a commitment to meeting deadlines
- Comfortable working in a team environment
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
